The overall objective is to contribute to sustainable development by providing appropriate technical and managerial solutions to sanitation-related issues, so that sanitation will not become a limiting factor for socioeconomic development.
Specific objectives are proposed in view of the sector’s capacities of adsorption in past large-scale experiences and programmes:
- Specific objective 1: Strengthen the institutional framework and sector reforms
- Specific objective 2: Improve access to sustainable sanitation systems
- Specific objective 3: Build wastewater and sludge treatment capacities
